The admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2008 offered by SVNIRTAR & NIOH would be done as per the application and admission procedure. The admission to the Indian nationals only would be made exclusively on the basis of merit in the Common Entrance Test (CET).

The CAT 2008 for admission to the PG Courses offered by the AIFD Bangalore, will be held on Monday 07 July at AIFD, Bangalore.

1. PG Diploma in Fashion Design
2. PG Diploma in Apparel Merchandising and Logistics Management
Duration: 2 years
No of Seats: (40 seats each)

Eligibility:
Should be a ward of one of the following:
1. Serving Army personnel.
2. Serving medical officers of IN and IAF who have served in the Army for more than 10 yrs and are members of AOBF.
3. Retired Army pers in receipt of regular pension, or former Army pers who retired after min service of 10 yrs.
4. Former Army pers who died during service / after retirement and family pension is granted.
5. TA pers who have completed 10 yrs of embodied service.
6. DSC pers who are serving or retired with pension:

* War widows (in receipt of liberalized pension) and children in receipt of family pension (due to death of both parents) are also eligible.
* In case of adopted child, the ward should have been adopted atleast for five years before applying for admission.
* Should be minimum graduates, or appeared for degree exam, at the time of applying for admission to AIFD. Minimum acceptable marks in are 50%.
* Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission.
* Limited seats for Civilians and wards of other defence establishments.

About GRE General Test

The GRE is required by most U.S. graduate schools and /or departments for candidates applying in the fields of science, technology, or engineering. Generally, the quantitative section of the exam is weighed heavily in the sciences.

GRE Subject Test is only offered on a limited basis in paper-based format. The GRE Subject Tests are required for the following fields:

* Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology
* Biology
* Chemistry
* Computer Science
* Mathematics
* Physics

The GRE General Test consists of verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills. These topics have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. The GRE Subject Tests gauge undergraduate achievement in eight specific fields of study.

GRE General Test Overview

The GRE® General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study.

Verbal Reasoning:
* Analyze and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it

* Understand basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis

Madhya Pradesh Pre Engineering Test 2008

The Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board conducts Pre-Engineering Test MP PET (or PEPT/PAT) for admission to Bachelors in Engineering, Pharmacy, Dairy, Agriculture, and Forestry. The Candidates are eligible for admission to Government Engineering Colleges, Private Engineering Colleges, and Autonomous Institutions in MP.

Examination Date: 21 and 22 June, 2008

Eligibility:
Age Limit: Not more than 21 years on October 1 of the year of admission (relaxable by 3 years in case of SC/ST).

Domicile Requirements:
1. The candidate is a Citizen of India.

2. The candidate has been educated in an educational institution located in M.P. for at least three consecutive years during the five years period from the year of examination.

3. The candidate is a bonafide resident of M.P.

4. The candidate is a son or daughter of

a)An employee or a pensioner of the Government of M.P. or an employee of the Government of M.P. who died while in service of these State or an officer of the All India Services borne on the cadre of M.P.
