The admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2008 offered by SVNIRTAR & NIOH would be done as per the application and admission procedure. The admission to the Indian nationals only would be made exclusively on the basis of merit in the Common Entrance Test (CET).

Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Cuttack. Orissa and National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped (NIOH) Kolkata invite applications for Common Entrance Test (CET-2008) for admission to following courses

Degree Courses at SVNIRTAR and NIOH
1.Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

2.Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT)

3.Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)

*The duration of these courses is 4 ½ years.

Post Graduate Courses at SVNIRTAR
1.Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) [Specializations- Rehabilitation; Musculoskeletal Conditions]
2.Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) [Specializations – Rehabilitation; Developmental Disabilities]

*The duration of these courses is 4 ½ years.

The courses at SVNIRTAR are affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. & NIOH Courses are affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata.

Last Date of receipt of Application form from North East States, J&k and Andaman & Nicobar Islands: 13-06-2008
Date of Examination :13.07.2008
Result declaration: 25-07-2008

Eligibility:
For Degree Courses:
Candidate who have appeared or passed the XII class examination or equivalent under 10+2 system with minimum five subjects and have secured or expect to secure 50% aggregate marks in PCB for BPT and BOT courses and 50% marks in PCB or PCM for BPO course at NIOH, Kolkata (40% in case of SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates).

Age not less than 17 years and not exceeding 22 years of age as on 31st August 2008.

For Post Graduate Courses:
MPT Course: - Pass in full time regular BPT/B.Sc. (PT) course from any recognized University with completion of all requirements of the degree course including completion of Internship by 12-09-2008
MOT Course: - Pass in a full time regular BOT/B.Sc. (OT) course from any recognized University with completion of all requirements of the degree course including completion of Internship before i.e. 12.09.2008.

How To Apply:
For Degree Programs: Rs. 400/- for General category candidates and Rs.300/- for SC/ST/PH candidates.
For PG Programs: Rs. 500/- for General category & Rs.400/- for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates

The Prospectus and Application form will be available at Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training on payment through Account payee Demand Draft in favour of the DIRECTOR, SVNIRTAR drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Cuttack.

The Prospectus and Application form will also be available at NIOH, B.T Road, Bon-Hooghly, Kolkata-700090; Pt. DDU IPH, 4, Vishnu Digamber Marg, New Delhi-110002;Composite Regional Center, PMRT Building, GMCH, Guwahati-32; Composite Regional Center, Near Women’s Polytechnic College, BEMINA bye Pass, SRINAGAR (J&K) against payment through DD only drawn in favour of the Director, SVNIRTAR payable at Cuttack. Candidate should specifically request Prospectus-cum-Application form for either Degree courses or Post Graduate courses.

The duly completed Application form should reach The Chairman (CET-2008)-cum-Director, SVNIRTAR, and Olatpur P.O.: Bairoi, Dist. Cuttack, and Orissa-754010 on or before 13.06.2008 by submitting in person at SVNIRTAR, Cuttack or by Regd. Post only.
